Spent is designed to help you track your spending privately and securely. We may collect the following types of information:

  • Transaction Data: the spends you log — amounts, merchants, categories, tags, notes, dates, and any receipt photos you choose to capture.
  • Usage Data: anonymous data such as session length, app crashes, or feature usage, to improve performance and user experience.
  • Account Data (optional): if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google to sync across devices, we process the identifier provided by that service. You can use Spent anonymously without an account.

We do not collect personally identifiable information beyond what is described here.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Help you log and track your spending.
  • Generate insights, budgets, and spending trends.
  • Process receipt photos and voice input to automatically fill in transaction details.
  • Improve app performance and user experience.

Your data is stored locally on your device first, and is synced to your own private account only if you enable sync or sign in.


3. Third-Party Services

Spent may use trusted third-party tools for analytics or crash reporting, and AI services to read receipt photos and parse voice input into transactions. These services may process the image or audio you submit, and may collect limited technical data such as device type or operating system version. Your transaction data is never shared with other users.

We may update this section if new services are added in future versions.


4. Data Security

We take data security seriously. All data is stored securely on your device or, if cloud sync is enabled, securely transmitted using industry-standard encryption.

You are responsible for protecting your device and any backups you make.


5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data. You can:

  • View or edit your transactions at any time.
  • Export your data to CSV or PDF.
  • Delete your data at any time.
  • Uninstall the app to remove all local data.
